Today was quite a day.
Running a cold nose and cough so I couldn't sleep in the morning. Ended up watching "The Princess and the Frog" (Disney Movie) which in turn put me back to sleep at the end of it all.
Got up and suddenly went all berserk in reaching Niece's Program. A Lovely Lady who was the chief guest for the program made sure that the mouse made all the Difference. And most importantly the host for the show was a DUNCE(no offense Mam, but am putting it in the most polite manner I can).
Felt Nostalgic looking at Niece doing her act in her first ever stage show. Formally called Annual Day and her act was only for about 2 to 3 minutes but nevertheless it felt real nice because long time back i was in those small roles doing annual days for my school and now am seeing someone close doing the same type of thing.
Later went to Krishi (Jaynagar 4th block) to celebrate. Great food but awesomely pathetic service.
Went back to sisters place and slept for an hour. Suddenly got utmost patriotic and wanted to watch a "Kannada Film". Unfortunately ended up reaching the theatre late but nevertheless got tickets for tomorrow's show.
Came back home and Ran through "Alvin and Chipmunks" and "Up in the Air". Personally speaking the latter was simply outstanding. Clooney never seizes to amaze me. Brillianto.
At the end of it all, The ear is still very irritating and am Still running a cold nose and cough.

Bangalore Traffic Police

Its kind of hard to roam on your bike around Bangalore if you don't have all your documents. You never know where they would do their hiding. They hide in such well planned and located places that when you take a curve BANG! they're there.

Depressing to see their site also I must say.

When they do attempt to catch, it's like a lioness jumping over her prey and then god help the innocent.

Its been quite a while since I've been to blogging and to my surprise, people who weren't internet savy turned out to be actual bloggers.

But.('But is an amazing word, its like a catalyst to any statement that would be made) But now am all changed, my focus is on my studies and improving it. My goals are set and I am working towards it. The blog would be more into ideating, developing and provoking different topics that I usually think about. Hopefully I would keep up to it.

A beautifully stylized movie. It is'nt one of those movies where you can what with kids but one of those movies which clearly shows that animation isn't just for kids.

IRONIC part is that there was a short movie created first before the actual feature length was created and that short was done by students of UCLA doing their final year in animation.

When will I get there? Hopefully soon.

A film by Thanush B Raj, Rishikanth Somayaji, Kannan P, Pridhvi.

Vayam (meaning "we" in Sanskrit), a short-film made in 2009, is a story about two close friends who come from different backgrounds of life. Knowing no difference, they are close to each other like siblings. This film is about a small incident that takes place in their lives, which morals a powerful message about a common issue that India (and maybe the world) is dealing with.

This film won first place in an inter-coll fest held at PES-SE, Bangalore.

It's been quite sometime since it's been made.

The Holidays

Once our exams came to an end, our 2 weeks of freedom had commenced. The first thing that we, as in the whole family, do is to head of back home to Birthi(near Udupi) in our Hyundai Santro.

The trip was a divine ordeal, it was more like a temple tour that we'd been on because almost every day we unintentionally made it at least one divine place or a temple.

Contrastingly even though we went to so many temples we were always in a awe at their sight. One such temple is the Murdeshawar temple. It's simply a breath taking temple because of its location. A huge Shiva sitting right on the coast of the Arabian sea really a sight not to be missed. The entrance to the place was also massive. I literally had to sleep on the floor to capture the whole temple on close sight on the camera. The crowd that the temple receive is one of the things that should be kept aside but otherwise the environment is simply awesome.

Another such temple was the Temple in Horanadu. Placed in the middle of the valleys, this temple is also a very beautifully scribed temple. En route to this temple, you pass lovely sights of the rich Malnad regions and then you'll wonder and be lost in its awesomeness.

Coming back to the Murdeshwar ride, En route we stopped at my dad colleagues place for lunch in a place called Bhatkal. The colleague was extremely excited that he ordered for the best sea food to be prepared(that's the place's specialty) without knowing that we were vegetarians. On our arrival, he asked to sit in the hall and then few other colleagues who also stay in the same area arrived. And then the million dollar question" Is sea food okay with you sir?" and the dreadful answer for my dad's mouth were "No, we are vegetarians". KA BOOM. He was out of there like batman not to be seen for the next half hour. We kept ourselves busy till then talking to the others in the room. After half an hour he called us to the dining hall and introduced to the table. "All perfectly non-veg sir all non-veg" said Talha Sir(His name) out of shear tension. He then apologized and corrected himself to veg. We were having the food but Talha Sir, still overly excited, asks us to have everything but he had the least. THE SEA FOOD'S WAITING IN THE DINING HALL. Once done with the lunch we picked off from there towards home which was quite far from there, bidding our good bye's. I bet he must have had a lot on that day.

During our stay, we somehow made it to a movie "Love Aaj Kal". The theatre is quite good place, I mean you don't find such good theatres there so this one was pretty good and the fact that the tickets were priced at 40 bucks. Another positive is the students studying in Manipal also have to come there to watch a movie, so good place to meet new people also. All in all damn good.

It had been a long time since I went back home so they the regular routine also to be accomplished like paying our visits to close relative places and stuff like that are always there so they weren't anything special.

During the other days that we weren't doing anything I was playing on the computer which I had taken there and setup since the place hadn't had one and it was high time they did. Otherwise I was up to reading a magazine or otherwise a book or else watching the television which was boring most of the time.

Like a said All in all damn Awesome.

Bangalore, one of the bustling cities in India and the so called Silicon Valley of India have a very depressing youth. The youth here are all comfortable in their lifestyle and don't give a damn to the society and the best they can do is to blame others for their faults and doings.

I recently was a part of a film making competition and my team ended up doing a documentary on' youth versus election'. To my surprise every one of them had the same reply which were 'lack of awareness' or 'to confusing and complicated'. Some of them were so disturbed on thinking about the issue that their reply was either "I'dont know" or "Sorry, nothing comes to my mind".

LOSERS

Thats all I have to say.

And for those losers who don't want to vote or don't know anything about the elections and voting, here's a clue.

Beggars

Yesterday, one of my objectives for the day was to observe people in a park. Observing people helps me improve and develop the characters I create for animation or film.

So I was off to Cubbon Park, near M.G.Road in Bangalore, to observe people. I generally noticed many street vendors, family’s having their picnic and lot of couples sitting on the benches placed under huge trees and having their time. I walked around the park and of tiredness I found a bench to sit on. My vision was scanning around the whole park to try and observe all the people I could.

Suddenly I found a group of 3 beggars approaching one of the couples sitting at a near distance from me. My first reaction was to get up and move myself out of their visual radius since I hated being mobbed by such a group at least. But once I moved out from there, I started noticing the beggars who by now mobbed that couple, weren’t letting the couple to ignore them. It came to point where the couple ignored them to the extent that the beggars were touching the couple and giving their ritual blessing which normally are intercepted a curses in disguise. The couple at the end of it all couldn’t even escape by paying one of them alone but he had to shell out his wallet to pay all three, especially notes and not coins. The beggars, satisfied moved on with their aim to mob other people in the park.

The crowd was pretty huge since it was a weekend and in the middle of a buzzing city. The beggars carried on next to a group of families who were picnicking in the pleasant afternoon. The families jointly contributed to the beggar’s demands just for their quick departure which did happen and saved their picnic from a lot of embarrassment.

The beggars moved on and interestingly they moved in a group only and they only picked on couples or groups and not passerby’s or single’s.

They moved on with their mission to accomplish and I drifted out of there after following them for a short while obviously with them not noticing.

The Watchmen

Just today morning I was luckily free to catch the premiere of the “The Watchmen” in Bangalore.

The movie was simply breath taking. It portrays a completely different style of showing superhero movies. The movie was very visual, very narrative and the music was abstractly appropriate for the visual. The graphics are simply exceeding their expectations and it’s fascinating to watch.

I loved it.

If u were a comic superhero fan, you should make it a point to watch it.

Slumdog Success.

It's a bit too late but just a few minutes back I was wondering what was behind the Slumdog success.

I don’t understand. The whole’s world was going gaga over this film but what was so good in the film that it snatched the Oscar limelight winning 8 out of 10 Oscar awards which it was nominated for before making a stamp in the Bafta and Golden Globes also. Only the awards won for best sound, score, song, cinematography and editing were actually worth it because it shows.

I certainly didn’t feel that the film was over the top like how the world is putting it. It was like any other movie which had it laughs and cries. Otherwise the film never stood out.

I, to some extent, hated the movie because it was showing the slums and especially that of India’s and to make it even more insulting, the slums of that area where slums are blossoming (sad but true), Mumbai and on top of all that they give out a statement that the film is about the universal truth called love. What crap.

To make it even worse, they actually picked a UK based Indian teenager who has never been to India before, who doesn’t have a clue to speak our national language. Call him a foreigner as well; it wouldn’t change a bit since he fits the specification. I bet they could have got away with better actors who speak English as well as he did here in India than those in UK.

I should be giving a huge hand for the rest of the cast, especially those kids who have never been outside their little slum world. They actually portrayed the picture perfect of the slums in India.

The music was another major high for the movie. A.R.Rahman really poured his magic into this score and it shows especially in songs like Ringa Ringa which I felt was a perfect for the prostitute centre and then Gangster Blues, another perfect song, for the gangster. Another hand goes to M.I.A. Her voice is a bit peculiar but her songs were very unconventionally awesome. I loved it.

You’d be in awe when you see the picture perfect shots of the movie, especially those of the slum areas. Beautiful compositions and shots. A big hand to the cinematographer, he’s really kicked ass in the movie.

I must say, the producer of the film is a great guy. He actually took the major cast of the movie from the slums of India to the Kodak Theatre just for the Oscars, got them all tucked up in tuxedos and gorgeous dresses. To top it all off, called all of them to the centre stage to receive the award and they even got to hold the Oscar. That is really really cool.

Salikeri Habba

My dad is from a place called Salikeri, a village in the interiors of Brahmavara, which is a small city situated near the popular city called Udupi.

A Habba means festival in Kannada. A festival is a reason for village people to get together and have many rituals performed to the village god. A festival is a reason for happiness, joy, games, fun and frolics. For many of the villagers, it also a reason to buy new goods, new clothes, new ornaments. It runs for a day, a minimum and goes on till the festive feelings begins to deteriorate.

Just a few a days back, I got the opportunity to attend Salikeri Habba and I’m sure I would have regretted it if I hadn’t come for it. I have never seen the village, I visit every now and then, so crowded and lit up at all. The music, the prayers, the crowd was really vibrant and shocking for once. The village parade was another sight that I loved and enjoyed especially the huge massive dolls, the local bands, and the chariot.

Another awesome feeling was the giant wheel. It really feels amazing and awesome. I always felt that it would be crap until actually sitting in it. The speed it went on was simply enthralling and no words could explain the feelings.

Another high point is the ice creams. Its summer at the present moment, so the amount ice cream we ate was simply amazing, totally amazing.

It simply was awesome. If you ever get an opportunity to attend such fests, don’t miss out.

Pakistan Cricket

I sympathize with Pakistan's current state of affairs. They can say a sweet goodbye to international cricket for at least a few years from now. The western countries already were second guessing their tours to Pakistan. India did it just after the Mumbai 26/11 which led to Sri Lanka showing solidarity to Pakistan, making a trip to Pakistan. And all they end up with is being targeted and attacked by whack’s called terrorists.

Hopefully, Pakistan Cricket is not terribly hurt by these unnecessary series of incidents. Hopefully, at least Pakistan domestic cricket will still carry on as normal. And again hoping that cricket in Pakistan will re-live like the past. Especially hope, the Indians go back there and kick some ass.

Am hoping that this wont affect the sub continent on the whole. But if it does also, the sub continent shouldn't that bothered because almost majority of the cricket that is being played by sub continents team and if they strike or stop playing the game, it would be unanimously boring and Cricket on the whole CANNOT afford it.

The Animation Workshop at the BIFFES

The Animation Workshop which was held by ANTZ in association with the Association of Bangalore Animation had begun on the 16^th of January. Few Dignitaries from the film and animation Fraternity gave their views on various issues. After the dignitaries finished their talk, they handed over the mike to the representative from ANTZ who were going to conduct the workshop. The workshop was a complete waste of time. I was sitting amidst people who had no technical knowledge of Animation. The representative's kept on speaking technical terms which no one understood which confused the audience including me. Mid way through, people started walking off. I followed their footsteps and walked off never to return.

4 day later, I heard reviews that it was a poorly conducted workshop and that there was no understanding between the people conducting the workshop. I had hopes of enlightenment from this workshop but unfortunately, it confused me of what I already knew.

Thankfully, I didn't attend the workshop and due to that I enjoyed the amazing films showcased in the FILM FEST even more.

BIFFES Inauguration Program

Bangalore International Film Festival kicked off on 15^th of January at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall. The Inauguration program started of late like all programs held in India and like most of the inauguration ceremony this one was also filled with flattering speeches after which followed the loud and annoying claps which I also joined in with.

It’s what happened after the pestering, that interested me. A dance program followed by a German film were presented after the film. The dance was very vibrant and colorful. It wasn’t like the normal cultural dance but still showed fusion of various cultural dances. The dance was a very delightful and an awakening experience after the boring speech.

It was getting late and they were supposedly to premiere “Seven Pounds” a film from USA starring Will Smith. But unfortunately due to technical difficulties they had to replace the premiere with a German film called “Yella”. The film was excruciatingly slow but the way the whole film was built was splendid. One very sad part of the movie is after you see through all the slow parts of the movie and you expect for something more, it comes to a sudden end which will irritate you. The shots taken in the movie are splendid especially the ones the beautiful landscapes and the very slowness of the movie actually gave a horrific feel to it. Maybe that’s why these films do better than internationally arena.

All in all, A good kickoff to a promising film festival.

Dentist

Dentist are very cunning.

Trust me, this is experience speaking.

Every time I visit the dentist, it some how or the other reminds me of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Looks are very deceiving and their apparatus look small but when you make yourself comfortable on their chair, it's a complete different ball game. First, it's their bright light pointing towards your face which blinds you a bit after which they bring their tools and start inspecting the mouth which you cleansed for 15 minutes before coming there. Then they tell you some big fancy words of theirs which in short means that their small cute little drilling machine of theirs has to go into your mouth.

Oh!!! Their drilling machine. The very small and tiny drilling machine of theirs are awesomely more powerful than many machines that has been seen to man kind(when I mean man kind, I mean what I've seen and not exactly man kind) and their drilling machines really give you the Goosebumps when they get started and when they are in your mouth, I'll keep it short and sweet, you are doomed to one and only one thing, PAIN.

Empire Of The Sun

'Empire of the Sun' is a Steven Spielberg film based on a novel written by J.G. Ballard. This film was released in 1987 and a famous actor, Christian Bale, made his first ever big screen act in this film.
The film had lows and they were intentionally done just to amplify and highlight the major sequences which followed the lows. Steven Spielberg's importance to music was again personified in this movie after he showed it in Jaws and Indiana Jones and many other films of his. Christian Bale's act is tremendous. The emotion he portrayed of the character he played was simply splendid. The actors played the parts to their best. The compositions of the some scenes were very pleasant and some sequences were very touching. To add to this serious movie

Losing...

People are frequently prone to coughs, colds and various other things but I doubt I am one of the few who are prone to losing. Recently I lost a gadget which I was using very frequently and this is not the first time that this is happening. I have a pretty long history on these lines. I'm telling you losing is a very sad and depressing feeling. This is experience talking here.

I seriously have to find a permanent solution to put an end to this callous botheration. Maybe I should do it the way the children remember what they have been told to, i.e., by writing it down and checking the written materials every now or the other option is to UP the security like the U.S.A government to keep my effects safe for example using some chained wallet and safety pocket for the mobile.

Hopefully, I'll implement it strictly and hopefully start to be more careful about my effects.

A movement, where any body gives a hug to a random person without any reason, just to make a person happy by which they could brighten their lives. It was created by Juan Mann, an Australian, with the main aim of spreading happiness, joy and belief in one's self. Recently a group of guys and girls of the age from 18 - 25 held a campaign on M.G.Road, Bangalore which supposedly spread the awareness of how much a hug can change a person.

Hopefully I could join this group as early as possible because I completely believe in it. Once I get more information on it, I'll surely enlighten anybody who needs to know.

Keep Connected and give a hug to someone today. You never know, it could suddenly change someone's life for the good.

Advertisements are by far the hardest medium to tell a story. In an advertisement, the production team has to tell a 15-30 second story which will captivate the audience into buying the product they are advertising and I am telling you. 15 - 30 seconds is a very less screen time to narrate a story.

Working a simple story is the only way out and the toughest thing to do in story writing is writing a simple story. This is because amateur story writers will always look to justify themselves (as to what they have written) in the story which will in turn elongate the whole story.

I don't understand why, but in India, advertisements aren't given that much importance. It's very odd to see advertisements (very bad ones) come on the Indian channels very frequently. The best that India came out with must be something from the MTV or Channel V India production studios.

Recommended Ads to be seen are from MTV international. They've got amazing ad's.I'll put them on once I find them online.

Continuing

I've got some comments saying that the previous post was too long and boring, so I'll try and make this short and interesting. Hopefully it'll work out.
As the night passed I try to catch a small sleep but no. With all the blabbering and all the nonsensical things going around you, I bet you can't make it through the night sleeping until and unless you’re a real tight sleeper.
The next day, all of the guys were up and out with our art materials by around 7.45 A.M. Most of us found a place for ourselves on the sides of the road and started sketching the beautiful, mind blowing and amazing scenery right in front of us. By around 8.30 we had our breakfast after which the buses started honking for its ride which was planned to start in a few minutes. Our next stop was on Talacauvery, a temple located on top of a hill and the birth place of the famous river Cauvery. Once there, we served our time with the god and went onto the tip of the mountain. The uphill walk was tiring and exhausting but once on top, you get a heart-stopping,over-whelming and mind-tingling view. While on top, we felt a completely different feeling and with the clouds passing through your legs, articulating that is never possible.
We stopped over on our way back for lunch in the lodge and then we were off to a palace which was also on another hill top. The road to this treacherous mountain was disgraceful and horrid. At some points of time, we actually felt that the bus wouldn’t make the curve and on other moments, the burning tire smell always irritated us.
After reaching the palace, we find out that it was utter crappy. It would be as simple as my ancestor’s home right now. But some of the guys and me made the best use of time reaching there. We got ourselves a carom board and then we got ourselves involved in a game of volleyball alongside the locals of the area. It’s pretty fun to play and enjoy, especially in that whether and area.
By the time we left the area, it was dark. On the way back to the lodge we stopped over at some hotels for dinner.
The tradition continued to pursue with no one allowing the good guys like me, obviously, to sleep.
During the night some of us got sleep enough to keep us alive the next day.
The next day was our return the Bangalore. Stomachs were starving till around 11.00 A.M where we reached a good hotel. The quantity of food was large and quality of the food was also awesome but the service was slow. After our mid morning brunch, we headed back in the way towards Bangalore. On the way back, we stopped on Abbhey Falls after which we headed back to Bangalore. The falls was like any ordinary falls.
We reached Bangalore at around 9.30 P.M and most of us were back home by around 11.30 P.M.

The Study Trip

Well the faculties and the management conducted a study trip to Bhagmandala and its surrounding areas. The tight, well thought out, planned trip started of for me on 27th November, 2008 at around 8.15 A.M when the bus booked for the trip arrived at my stop. The departure from my stop was around 8.45 A.M because of the usual delays of students not arriving on time. The bus took of and in the bus started the chit chatting, which eventually grew louder and louder as the journey continued.

Our first stop was around 10.30 A.M and by then we reached Kamat Lokaruchi. The food was flavorsome, mouthwatering, appetizing, scrumptious, yummy, juicy, and succulent and they exceeded any expectation anyone had. With our stomachs full, we continued our journey. At this point of time, the games started beginning. On one side of the bus were fun games and on the other side, games like chess and different games of cards were being played. It was very intriguing, interesting and actually made me so enthralled that I didn’t even know that we covered around 130 Km. Our next stop could be called a pit stop considering the main aim of this stop was to attend to some major nature calls.

And we were off again, back in games mode. We made a quick stop for lunch at some faltu hotel in Hunsur. The place reminded of the days I was there with my parents, grand parents and uncles and aunts. My mom is from Hunsur.

And of we were of them there.

The duration till our next stop wasn’t that much and before knowing that we reached, we were already there. The place where we arrived at was called Tibetan Colony and the name of the place suggests it all. It is a colony holding the Tibetans. The architectural design of the place resembles the architectural design of Tibet and Indians also seem to look like tourist over there. Quite an achievement to make in India I must say.

The guys started clicking photos right from the point they put the foot down on the place. The major tourist spot of this place is the Golden Temple of Buddha. The temple is filled of various ages of monks and in the temple sits 3 huge, massive, gold plated Buddha’s. It's a beautiful unexplainable sight and you must go there to experience it. The guys kept moving in and around the place buzzing about the people, the location and the beautiful views. Our next stop was toward the market area which was about 500 meters from the temple. The market area was pretty small but had a lot of variety and mainly depicted the culture of Tibet. I managed to pick up a bell to which if you revolved a wooden stick gives of the sound of the scared chant 'OM'.

The bus was horning out loud basically to get out of that place as quickly as possible. It was late and dark. We were out of there at around 8.30 P.M and as the journey to our lodge continued, most the guys were falling asleep like bowling pins. We reached Hotel Mayura, Bhagmandala at around 9.30 P.M and thankfully they were pretty happy to keep some food ready for us. The food was not that great but anything is OK at that point of time.

After the dinner, some of us went out for a night walk. In that dark and lonely road uphill, god, that was a walk which I wouldn’t try to do it again. On the walk, we were basically making fun of every odd character that we knew. We were back within 45 minutes and straight headed straight into the dormitories where our bed waited for us. Unfortunate for me, the other guys in the place weren’t that cooperative into allowing me to sleep.

Quiet a movie I should say.

Shah Rukh carried out his character way more than exceptionally. Anushka Sharma, who looked very cute throughout the entire movie, did a pretty neat show but it was Shah Rukh all the way. Vinay Pathak also was quite a surprise in the whole movie.

Talking about the movie on the whole, it had too many dialogues. The music was not so great and the cherography was very simple which added to the aura of the film. I felt the camera angles and shots taken during the starting sequence and whenever it came towards the Golden Temple, were beautiful. The movie's story always went in a see-saw style with the humorous acts every now and then, but when it went slow it became totally boring.

Overall if you watch the movie, then watch it for Shah Rukh Khan. I would rate it a 3 out of 5.

Analyzing Films

Yesterday and today, our college management arranged a seminar for the students of the course and the seminar was conducted by Mr. Anil from Chitra Kala Pratishat in Bangalore and the seminar was basically about analyzing films and appreciating them. The seminar was pretty fruitful in its own way, as in, the lecture given was very confusing but at the end of the day something new was known to us.

With me, it was this new field called video art, which I am very interested in. So along with my ongoing research on fotomation I will surely make a note of looking up on video art and as and when I do I will surely keep you updated.

And please if you do like performance, drama and film(not commericial films) try catching up with this film called DV8 Physical Theatre's 'Cost Of Living'. Here is the trailer and please share your views on these type of movies.

A take on the Indian Government System

Just last week was the Mumbai's Terror Attack, which many people also call as ' India's 9/11'. Right after the attack was neutralized, a list of politicians were forced to resign on the grounds of neglecting the intelligence which were received in advance or acting negligently while the whole attack was taking place.

I have one question here, how is the resignation of politician going to help the situation? It only proves the fact that they are cowards who are scared to face the problems and find solutions to these problems.

I have one more question, why do we have politicians of such stature who don't know how to face and solve situation more effectively? Why that is in U.S and the U.K, government personnel should have at least a year of military training before getting the post in the government? I am very sure that if our country's home minister were a military personnel or a ex-military officer, he could have handled the situation in a much more professional manner.

I very much think that the whole government system should be revised and I hope that such an action is done as soon as possible.

Just around 2 days back I had auditioned for a animated feature film called Bal Bharat (supposed to release during the month of may 2009). The script and the language stated on the script was traditional Hindi. I tried my luck but unfortunately was not able to come up to requirements since Hindi was a one my Achilles heel.

Fortunately it was not all bad for me, since my voice was strong but my Hindi was poor, the casting director told me that if anything came up he would surely give me a buzz. So am waiting for the opportunity.

Photomation

It's an animation technique which I am researching on. It is basically the process of shooting series of live photographs and placing them together which will eventually give an illusion of life. One methods of photomation is the pixilliation which was already experimented by my friends and myself in our first ever production called ‘The Big Trick’.

I am planning to use another method also called ‘Fotomation’ (Method used in the award winning ‘Missing Pages’(Video Below)) part of this animation technique in my adaptation of Robert Frost's 'The Road Less Travelled’.

Sorry but I still don't have exact details of this technique.

Places To Be, Things To See: Sangam , Mekadatu and Chunchi Falls.

Well the places mentioned on the heading are situated in the most splendid and awesome state called Karantaka and it’s a splendid breath taking 97 km ride from Bangalore.

Two friends of mine and I took off in two bikes towards the place. We enjoyed the ride even more since we’d been there once before but due to minor difficulties we couldn’t enjoy ourselves there. We started off from Bangalore at around 7.30 A.M and had some snacks along the way. The route is splendid (even the roads were surprisingly good except for 6 Km bad stretch), like I said, therefore we took our own sweet time to reach.

Our arrival to Sangam, the point where River Arkavathy and Cauvery converge, was around 10.30 A.M. We spent some time on the river bed of the Sangam after which we took a raft ride to cross the Sangam River to reach Mekadatu. The people of the area are a bit aggressive, even the beggars, so if you’re aggressive try not to show it out there.

Talking about the raft ride, the raft ride was a bit slow, but the whole ride was smooth and beautiful. It of course doesn’t come for free. The cost is around Rs.40 per person back and forth, and on top of that the raft rider asks for his tip which is around Rs.10. If you still got some energy left in you to reach the top of the hill walking, you can take a 4 km trek, which is up hill all the way, otherwise you have an option of either travelling by bus or if you’re a big group then you can book yourself a cab to take you back and forth. We took the bus, again costed us Rs.40 per person.

Talking about the bus. The bus you’ll sit in looks like a wreck, a complete wreck. The seats luckily are stuck to the bus throughout but the rods, the shock observers are completely out of place. And the ride, the ride was awesome (Am being sarcastic). The uphill bus journey is’nt that tiring, it’s worse than tiring.

Once reaching the top, you got to go downwards, with the help of half broken steps or some deformed rock. Mekadatu (Translation: Goat’s Leap), I’ll cut the story short as to why this place got the name of Mekadatu. Legends say that a tiger chased a goat and the goat, with no other option, actually jumped the cliff (now known as Mekedatu) and survived reaching the other side of the river. Below the cliff runs the Cauvery River in a full force.

The second best part of this trip of mine was to go to the cliff and simply doze of there and then. Fortunately not many visitors were around at that point of time.

After having a good 45 minute sleep, I get up fresh to see the rushing waters of Cauvery flowing with brute force right below the cliff. Simply Splendid. (By the way, beware the monkeys. They are way more aggressive than the locals)

We then made our way back the same way we came. After our visit, we zipped out of there quite quickly and made our way to Chunchi Falls. Chunchi Falls is a waterfall formed by the flowing Arkavathy River. Entering Chunchi Falls Parking Lot was a splendid view amazing, awesome, words can’t explain and am not being sarcastic. For going to the actual spot, take a local person’s help and he’ll give you the time of your life. The route towards the waterfall is awesome and gives you a 1% feeling of what it is to actually trek. He showed us how to get so freaking close to the falls that me and my friend, Jishnu, could’nt resist but to take a dip in the falls. The feeling of being under a waterfall is completely inexpressible. Giving words to this feeling will actually be injustice to the whole environment. We spent around 25 minutes under the fall and then made our way out of there since we didn’t want to reach Bangalore when the skies were dark. We made our way towards the parking lot pretty quickly, paid the guide a petty amount and zoomed out of there.

We made our way back by around 5.30 PM and on our way back, we had a somewhat lunch. Once back, the other bike went separate ways and I reached home. First thing after coming home was to take a proper shower and then fall onto the bed.

One Night @ the Call Centre is a novel written by Chetan Bhagat and the story revolves around 6 call centre employees and their lives. I felt the book was one of normal novels you would read and was very well written, I liked the way he expressed the issues of a call centre. Call Centre employees would have loved the book but I would say it was nothing that great or anything.

'Hello'a bollywood flick with special apperances from Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan and Arbaz Khan (the before names are big names in the bollywood industry).

'Hello' is based on a best seller called 'One Night @ the call centre'. The story is about a night at the call centre and it revolves around 6 characters who work in the call centre.

The movie was a drag. It was'nt like the book and wasnt good at all. In the theatre I was dying for the end.

And if you've read the book, then you'll be even more sad because they've changed the most of the character's approach to the story.

When directors take up adaptation, I have no clue as to why they have to change something or the other from the book.

Hmm have to think about it.

Partially because i've been swarmed by college activities, roamin around towards the country side, reading novels, watching films and lastly mainting my house, bike and most importantly myself.

It's been long since i've read a proper novel and now i've made it a point to start reviving my reading habits.

Recently I just finished reading a graphic novel called 'Artemis Fowl' and a best seller called 'One night @ the call centre'

Places to be, Things to see : Janapada Loka , Big Banyan Tree

Last Thursday, my friend, Jishnu and I, planned to ride to Big Banyan tree located around 25 Kms from Bangalore. It was supposedly has its branches covering 3 acres of land. As we reached the Mysore Road, it was around 12 Noon. We adjusted our plans accordingly to go to the renowned restaurant called Lokaruchi ( located on the Mysore Road around 40 Kms from Bangalore) for lunch.

We reach Lokaruchi at about 12.45 PM and the first thing we do is to order the lunch which is one major delicacies of the place. We ate, ate and ate. While eating we ate like we never ate before, but after we finished with it, we were screwed. I mean heavy stomach and very sleepy.

While having lunch we felt something fishy in the neighborhood, since there was live folk music in the background. So just after lunch, we asked one of the waiters as to what was going on the other side. They were pretty happy in telling us that since that day was some festival, the next door was a folklore college called Janapada Loka which has a cultural program on special days. I was shocked actually, because I’ve been to Lokaruchi like a lot of times but never knew that there was a folklore college right next door.

Stomach full.

To enjoy our while out there, we paid a short visit to Janapada Loka. Talking about Janapada Loka, it's an amazing place to be in. The environment is lovely, and way better than the 'GARDEN CITY' Bangalore. The smell and breath of the place makes you to stay longer.

We just hanged around there, and tried keeping our eyes open since we were very sleepy after the heavy lunch, looking at the museum's and artifacts till around 3 PM. At around 3 PM a cultural show began, and the show just swept the audience of their feet. The lively music. The energetic and amazing dance. Words can't explain anything.

At around 4, when the program got over, we departed from there and made our way to the Big Banyan Tree.

The ride was wonderful. There's at least one place where good roads are there and they are on the outskirts of the city.

Reaching the big banyan tree, we were stunned. The tree’s branches actually spread around 3 acres of land. When we went there, we never understood where it started from. It was amazingly huge, unbelievable size. We stopped there for a short time and then zoomed out of there since it was getting dark.

We enjoyed the whole day, especially the opportunity to watch the cultural dance, since it's done only on special days.

Innovative Film City

It’s a Film City situated around 28 kms from Bangalore in a place called Bidadi. This film city includes attractions like an Amusement park, Arcade Playing Centre, Mirror Maze and also involves big attractions like Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, Louis Tussad’s Wax Museum and a 4 Dimensional Movie.

Your budget needs to be a minimum of around Rs.600 excluding your transportation cost. You can reach this place using the public bus facility or on own transport.

Me and my friend went to the film city on Oct 4 2008. We had a pretty enjoyable ride to the place since the road is pretty well maintained (It’s a rarity to find well maintained roads in Bangalore). We reached there around 11.30 and then started clicking some photos of the entrance of the film city. Going towards the ticket counter to get an entrance for ourselves, we were approached by some helpers who gave us a brief description on what is where and how much would it cost. The best part of the film city is that it’s not a necessity to visit all the parts of the place. If wanted we could go to which ever parts we wanted and pay on the spot for the entrance. We saved up some cash there since we didn’t go for the Dino World, Water Park and the Kids play area. Yea sure, you’d get a discounted entrance if you’d buy a ticket for Rs.699 for everything in the place.

We both bought the entrance ticket for Rs.50 each and then a ticket for our camera which costed us Rs.100. Once entering we passed by a huge street with awesome architectural designs and this street was called the MAIN STREET.

Our next stop was the mirror maze. This is amazing maze, which will entertain you. Once you enter and walk a few meters you’ll bang into a mirror which you would’nt know unless your hands stretched out straight. And the main aim of going into the maze is to get out of it which is also the biggest problem as the whole place look the same. So I guess you understand what I mean. It’s pretty small but we were almost stuck for about half an hour and unknowingly made it back to the entrance more than twice.

After exiting the Maze, we were dizzy, still in the same world as the maze and made our way to our ticket counter were we bought ourselves a ticket for the Louis Tussad’s Musuem and Mini Golf which cost us Rs.50 each.

Our next stop was the Louis Tussad’s Wax Museum. The museum had a variety of personalities from different part of the continents like there was Mahatma Gandhi, Angelina Jolie, Elvis, Nelson Mandela, Walt Disney and many other famous personalities. There were more than we’d expected so it took quite sometime to go through the whole place.

After exiting the museum, we headed towards the mini golf. The instructor gave a bit of a description of how it works and how we should approach it after which we were on the course. The course was awesome fun since it was located in a somewhat up and down region, so most of the time we hit the ball, it mostly came back down and some of the hole’s were located near fountains and Ashwin made it in there twice. So we had a good laugh while playing the whole course which was a 18 hole course.

Our next stop was the 4 Dimensional Movie. We both were animation students and our main reason to see the film was to find out how the 4 dimension worked. It was costly (Rs.100) but the film was very neat and nice. It really entertained us along with the common audience. I won’t break the suspense and tell you what the 4th dimension. It is for you to find out. Coming out, we looked around the arcade games. Speaking about these games, their screens are awesomely huge and if you enjoy arcade games, you’ll thrive in this condition.

After a look at these games, we headed of to the food court. The food court has a lot of variety, but the major problem here is that, the food isn’t good and another problem is that you can’t sneak in outside food in. They got tight security at the entrance. Once the eating was over, we walked around the place, looking at some dance competition and then singing and other of the attraction like caricature. After which we headed to the exit and then back home.

Over all I would say that the place is fun to be and you’ll enjoy the whole trip for sure. Unfortunate for us that we didn’t catch the Ripley’s attraction since it was closed, but still enjoyed the trip a lot.

Welcome to Sajjanpur, a film by Shyam Benegal, is one of those films which challenges the bollywood style of film making where unbelievable and unimaginable events take place.

This film is a comedy which will make you laugh out your hearts. Unlike bollywood movies, every Indian can some or the other way relate to leastwise one character or an event that takes place in the film and that's why the film would be very much liked. A very down to earth, this is a must watch if you have come from a village and now become a big person.

The movie was more character based and not a story based. All the actors in the film have played a role more than they were expected and that's why the film is absolutely splendid. The only thing that wasn't required in the film, I felt was the song sequence which could have been easily done away with.

A very down to earth, this is a must watch if you have come from a village and now become a big person. Enjoy.

P.S: You got to understand hindi properly before watching the movie

Mumbai Meri Jaan

Mumbai Meri Jaan is an amazing movie. Words can't the movie. It talk's about how the July 11th train blasts in Mumbai affected different people in different ways.

The acting in simply inexpressibly good especially the main characters like Irfan Khan(who has very less dialogues in the film but still show brilliant visual language skills), Kay Kay Menon(amazingly done), Paresh Rawal(I acctualy felt like he was a police constable), Mahadevan and Soha Ali Khan.

The camera work also was awesomly done.

The story line is very heart touching and the acting acctually makes you feel very emotinal.

The only thing I din't like was the Visual effects they had given for the blast sequence which felt very fake.

The movie is a bit slow but it more than worth watching. If you are a film lover and an Indian by heart then you would'nt miss such an movie.

Why are Indian Athletes against cricket in Olympics?

While selling of the old newspapers in the afternoon, I came across this article which had many Indian Athletes against cricket entering the Olympics.

Why shouldn’t be the cricket be in the Olympics?

The replies from these athletes were that if cricket entered into the Olympics then their sport will be even more deteriorated.

I don’t understand how is it going to help these athletes who go to the Olympics, try their level best and still don’t find place in the medals list, have a problem with or without cricket being in the Olympics.

Why is that they only think about it from the Indian Community point of view.

What about the other cricket loving nations? Don’t the cricketers from different nations want to be a part of the biggest ever and most prestigious sport and games event?

And even if you take it from the Indian Community context also, the government is giving the same amount of support to each and every sport. It is the BCCI, which is the Indian Cricket Board, which is taking the initiative to flourish the sport. And up till the achievement of the World Cup in 1983, Cricket in India was considered to be the same as all sports and games in the nation.

Because of its increase of popularity in the nation, do the athletes think that if cricket enters into the Olympics it would lower their status in the society?

I don’t think so.

The Indian Cricketing Season

There’s been lot of cricket going on this season and fortunately the Indian Cricket Team get a month’s break before the hosting a test series against the world champs, Australia.

What do the cricketer’s do during this time?

No, they don’t spend their precious little time with their families nor do they spend time holidaying with loved ones on a paradise.

They do the unwanted.

The make themselves available for the domestic circuit of the game.

I have to ask them this question. Haven’t they had enough cricket already?

I mean this season started of with the Asia Cup where the played the start brilliantly and end up losing very, very badly in the final against the Sri Lankan’s and fell like bowling pins against a newcomer called Ajanta Mendis. Then they move on to a tour to Sri Lanka where they played a test and ODI series. Te first test, they looked out of place but came back pretty strongly in the second test. The third one was well contested I must say but victory was with Sri Lanka.

Then followed an ODI series in and against Sri Lanka where the Indians convincingly beat the home team by nullifying the home teams’ brilliant bowling attack.

During all this time they were always complaining for lack in rest. Now they get one and can’t make full use of it and go back and play the sport.

C’mon, it’s just a game.

Exam Tension

Well, I've got my exams coming up this Monday.

As the day the dates for the exams were released, I had remembered the days when I was in school and when ever the term and final exams approached, about 2 weeks earlier, I used to catch my book and start staring at it as if I were studying and as the exams came even more closer, I used to stay up late and start reading something in the book and try to make sense of the topics( all the subjects except math, looked like foreign inscriptions which I never could understand).

And then 15 minutes before entering the exam hall, class-mates, who have huge guides and reference books on their hands, start firing question at you, and, trust me, you'll always feel under-prepared when you can't answer and the immediate reaction is to push your hand right into the big huge bag of class books and start searching for answers in the text books which never have the answers when you want them.

Panic. Tension rises.

Entering the exam hall, praying for all the gods possible to help you. As the paper comes right in front of your eyes, you'll be quite happy as it will never be as tough as you expected.

You exit the hall in full swing and start showing off that the paper was damn easy.
As the results are released, you'll find out you failed.
And then the sobbing and emotional breakdowns take place in front of the parents and the promising that next time you will do better.

Anyways I'm glad that this type of situation will not take place from now on wards because it's quite simple, for Animation you need practice and that'll only save you.

Dark Knight is simply amazing. No words can explain the movie. Simply mind blowing, the visual are splendid, the gadgets and the vehicles are always amazing and the acting, especially The Joker's(Heath Ledger) was simply amazing, he makes you shiver being on the seat. His sadistic acting was way too much to handle. The Batman/Bruce Wayne(Christian Bale), Harvey Dent(Aaron Eckhart) , Commissioner Gordon(Gary Oldman) just play the their parts to perfection.

Its sad to know that Heath Ledger passed away on the same day as the production completes for Batman and an actor like him would always be missed.

If I were given the chance I would watch it again the theaters.

I just hope that you don't miss this movie.

Brigade Road, this is one of the most famous hang outs in Bangalore.
In this busy road filled with foreigners and teenagers, is the Rex Theater. This was the theater that I had been to see Sarkar Raj(Mentioned about in my previous blog) along with a group of class friends. As we get out of the theater area and walk on the streets of brigade road, we talk about the movie since we all are film making students. We reach to a point where the area was no that much crowded and stand there and continue our talk on the film. As we were talking, a boy, aged around 14, comes with a plate and on the plate is a god's photo, begging for money. We ignore him and continue to talk about the film. The boy still standing with us over hearing our conversation. One of the guys, Ashwin, talks about the issue that there was too much sympathy was given to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan towards the end of the film and that much sympathy shouldn't have be given.

The boy over-hearing this says,"Give me that sympathy."

Ashwin, insulted by that boy's gesture and embarrassed gives the boy a Rupee and the boy takes off.
All of us, laugh our stomach's out, and that was the full-stop to our discussion on the film.

All I say is, how cool can beggars get??

Sarkar Raj

Sarkar Raj, a sequel to the previous installment Sarkar.

Watched this movie today, and, woah!. That's all I can say about this movie. The acting was outstanding and the casting was simply outstanding. The movie proved that it was a pure bollywood movie with its massive amount of importance to the music score(after every important dialogue, there was music that would blast your ears). The consistency of how the movie started and ended with Sarkar and Sakar Raj makes a very strong statement. You can easily understand the situation without a dialogue being spoken.

The end I must say, really was the negative point of the movie. They could have easily ended with a bang, but it okay. I was thinking about another end and I have come up with one, but if I blog it right now then it will turn out into a spoiler, so I'll wait for a few more days to give out my ending.

Petroleum Prices Hike

The Central Government of India gave out a statement mentioning that petroleum rates are going to rise by Rs 5 for petrol, Diesel by Rs 3 and a soaring rise for the gas by Rs.50.
Just because of this price rise, many other industry product's especially like tires, household items, vegetables etc., will also rise because the main source of moving objects to far away locations require petroleum in one way or the other.
Normally before getting out of your house you wouldn't think too much, but as of how things are going on now you would have to think a lot before getting out. This is going to be a massive blow to the middle class people and coping up to it will surely be a challenge.

I feel the raise on the petroleum prices should'nt have be done since the election are right around the corner and taking such a risk may back fire on the current government.

The least we can do is wait and watch.

Indiana Jones, one of the few legendary characters created, comes back into action after long 10 years gap and with the same actor, Harrison Ford, playing the same role.

About the latest installment, if you were expecting something out of the world, then I would say you would be disappointed but if you are going to watch this film just to have a good time, then you will get its money's worth. Harrison Ford, playing the famous 'Indy' in the film, acts it with sheer class and after watching this movie, I would rate him one of the classic, unforgettable actors of this time period. Shia LeBouf, playing 'Mutt Williams', also plays an awesome role in the movie and playing next to Harrison Ford would have been quite difficult and along with starring in an 'Indiana Jones' film, it must be very difficult but he shows how good an actor he is in the film. The rest of the cast weren’t quite extraordinary like these two actors. The graphics also didn’t find much role in the film and it was quite surprising to see a well shot film without much Visual Effects.
On the whole I would rate it: 3.5/5

Iron Man

Iron Man(2008)
Based on character created by the Marvel Studious, Iron Man, is a well paced movie that I saw recently. The first half of the movie( if there was a first half cause in India there was) was quite slow but the build up to the second part was quite sensibly done. They never gave out the climax until the real climax arrived. The comical gesture and dialogues presented on screen here and there was also quite nice.
The graphics in the movie must also be appreciated to a large extent.

The movie is a quite entertaining and its actually very interesting till the end.

Speed Racer

Speed Racer (2008)

Based the comic series published in 1983, the movie , Speed Racer, is simply amazing. The graphics, the races, the shots taken are simply and I must say simply, breath taking.

The races were adreline pumping and keeps you at the edge of your seats even though the results are obvious. Even the transition are very old style, but still very fresh to see. I also need to warn you that, if you can't take fast camera movements or rapid shots, be careful.

The critics had gone very hard on this films since comparing it to the comic series, it seems that it was terribly bad but I must say that comparing the both is pointless.

My advice: don't listen to the critics, see this movie for the fact that it's pure entertainment for the audience, and it will take you away to a visually stunning world for a couple hours.

Roaming around in Shivajinagar

Shivajinagar, one of the famous hang out's in Bengaluru, is one hell of a place to roam around. Last week I had been there along with a friend of mine, Ashfaq, who knows the place inside out and we both had gone there on our own bikes. Amazing roads to reach our destination The roads went through a line of spare parts sellers, mosque and buildings through out. The path we went on was not even enough for 3 people to walk parallel but still we went through. I still can't believe that we made it through that street. He told me in the nights people go on 75 km/h on those roads and I was just there and watching his face. We came to a shop named Paani kum Chai which had amazing sharbat, a welcome drink, and then after that even better was the Chai(Tea). It was simply amazing to be there. We went of our ways after the tea.

These days are very few to pass by and remembering these would make me happy at any point of time.

Making blog a secured link

My college has a blog on wordpress and the administrator was talking about paying money to make the blog for secured viewing,meant that not all people could see the blog, but only those who were part of the college .

I seriously don’t agree with the idea of making a blog for secured for viewing. A blog, according to me, is a place where anybody can read your . Now when anybody makes a blog secured, not everyone can see the entries which are made, therefore the whole idea of blogging is destroyed. Instead , they could easily make a website which provides areas for keeping secured information.

Anyways convincing guys in college is like climbing Mt.Everest so I won't try and convince them.

Believe it or not

It's quite amazing how the time passes. This I say because since the pass 7 months there hasn’t any internet facility at my place in Bangalore and I am not a person who had to be on the internet for a long time always. All of a sudden, the internet facility at my place shows up. I was quite shocked in a good way since this was one of the few good revelation taken place at my place.
By the way, from now on I will be continuously posting entries on various different issues and I promise you that you'll love reading it.

Bannerghatta National Park

In the whole process of animating a animal, you can't just do it out of sheer luck. To be atleast near perfect observing the animals and finding out technical details like anatomy, physical appearnce, emotinal reaction etc, is a must.

To observe various different animals, our class heads off to Bannerghatta National Park, Bangalore. The bike ride to the location is quite splendid.
The zoo has variety number of animals ranging from different type of monkey to various small fishes. The animals out there were not as proactive as they would be seen in the wild, maybe because of the immense number of visitor watching their face through out the day.

The zoo seems to be quite interesting to see especially like the number of the small crocodiles, tortoises. The snakes are quite creepy to watch.

Do make it a point to visit this place if you do step in Bangalore.

Cycling to the top

I had just completed my latest trek to Jalori Pass (11,000 ft above sea level) which is situated in the Himalayas. The trek was completed on cycle since it was a mountain biking expedition. While going up the mountains, it was treacherous and it was tougher than tough to climb it on cycle, so therefore I pulled the cycle along with my rucksack while going up most of the times. The return from the top most camp was a roller coaster ride which gives you a feeling of that you can travel faster than light. On a whole, the whole trek was splendid.

The trek was organized by Youth Hostel Association, India (YHAI) who organizes various number of treks during this season of April and May(The previous trek of mine crossing Sar Pass was also organized by them). The whole idea of going for this trek was prompted by my brother,Ravi , and I full heartedly thank him for doing so. Without his prompting god knows how lame my holidays would be.

The trek was Mountain Biking Expedition to Jalori Pass and back. It was planned to be an 8 day trek. All equipment relating to biking was provided by YAHI. More details can be found here.

On 24th April, In my sister school, I get a message from my brother telling me about this trek and within the next two days, along with his help of my brother and Ekta, a girl whom I met during my last trek to Sar Pass, the whole trek was finalized.

And of I went to Delhi from Bangalore on 26th April on the Air Deccan flight which my brother had booked on the internet. Reaching Delhi, I meet Ekta who was waiting for my arrival at the airport. She takes me to the YHAI hostel where I halt for the day. The next day I check out and Ekta comes back to the hostel where I halted for the day. We both go take a bus to Cannot Place which is one the busiest shopping areas and from there we take a metro to the ISBT, the bus station in Delhi. Once there I book my tickets to my reporting base camp, Aut, Himachal Pradesh. From there we take a metro back to Connaugt Place where we have lunch at McDonalds. The lunch was quite filling and the Air conditioned area was quite refreshing for me since we were roaming around in the so arching heat along with my huge bags on my shoulder. After that we head out to the National Museum since that are was AC controlled. We move around the areas. What was quite interesting is the paintings and the artifacts that are placed there, were quite splendidly maintained and well preserved ,even though there were damages all round. After a round at the museum I head to catch my bus and Ekta moved towards her home. The bus was quite unpleasing to sit in but I passed through it.

DAY 1, Aut:
Reaching Aut at around 7.15 AM with my shorts and half sleeves shirt was going through hell. That freezing weather was clearly unexpected. I was the first one to reach and since then, I quite acclimatized to the whether. 30 minutes after my arrival, 2 other guys named, Krishnam and Varun, join me and both of them being from Bangalore were quite pleasing. As the day passed, a group of 8 arrived and surprisingly they were also from Bangalore. So many people from the same place aren’t quite what I expected but they all were pleasing to meet. The day passes, some of us have a dip at the near by river which was stone cold but it was an experience never to be forgotten and rest talk to each other sharing their experiences, clicking photos, jogging on the Himachal roads and climbing small heights. The service at this camp was good and up to the standard at which I expected. All people were well welcomed and lunch and dinner was quite nice except for the fact of potato all through the day. As the sky turns dark, four uncles whose nick name were like Professor, Vagesh, LaxmiNarayan and Nayak also join our troupe. Surprisingly again, they also from Karnataka and this was getting quite annoying since one of my intention to come to these treks was to meet different people, different culture but I can't help but I have to go through it. The three of us (me, Varun and Krishnam) slept in the tents whereas some of the guys slept in the other tent and most of them in the rooms provided.

Day 2, Aut:
The morning was even more chiller than the previous day and unpleasant. Four Delhi IIT guys named Prashant, Naseem, Gaurav and Swapnil joined the troupe. Breakfast was served. Varun, feels unpleasant with his stomach. He struggles for an hour or two with out any breakfast. The director, Mr Chauhan, arrives at the location, gives us a bit of scare on the path which we were going on but his advise was to enjoy the whole experience. He took Varun for a medical check up in Kullu, around 28 Kms from Aut. While Varun had gone for the check up, we carried on with our duties and that day was to trek up a hill to a temple 500 ft from where we were. The trek was quite tiring and pounces of water were completed in just minutes. We stopped all round and clicked as many photos as we could during the trek. Once up in the temple, we told our prayers and off we were back to the camp. The down hill walk was quite required and refreshing. Once down we had our lunch which was again filled with potatoes and then the uncles, I and Krishnam, went of to Kullu to do a bit of sight seeing. As we were leaving, we found out that Varun had a kidney stone which was giving him all the problems and he was asking us for details of the flights out from Kullu to Delhi since he wanted to reach home as early as possible. I and Krishnam get down at Bhunter where the nearest airport is situated and we inquired with the airport. The other uncles carried on to Kullu where they found out details about the return to Delhi. After the inquiry, we also headed to Kullu. In Kullu, the first thing we do is book tickets to Chandigarh. And then we move to the famous Vaishnavi Temple. We offer are prayers there and carry to a shawl factory since Kullu is very famous for its shawls. The factory was quite splendid to see how the shawls were made and it different designs. After that we head back to Kullu. We roam around the area and visit the Tibetan market and then head back to the camp. The other people were having their dinner as we joined in. The dinner was again filled with potatoes. After the dinner, the next thing I did was pack my bag for the real start of the trek and making it as light as possible and then I slept of in the same tent as we did last time.

Day 3, Aut to Banjar :
The morning was bit more pleasant compared to the previous two day. The breakfast was bread and jams and butter along with banana. For that moment it was different and potato less. Quite amazing to see a day without potato but it was inevitable to be without potato since our packed lunch which we had to carry was roti and potato side dish. The trek's start was simply amazing, going through a tunnel for about 2 Kms in dark. Once out we passed through a dam and seeing the scenery from there was like visiting paradise. Cycling was beginning to be comfortable and the whole group moved very swiftly. The only dangerous thing was that we were traveling on roads same as the Himachal Pradesh Buses and they ride on those road as if it were a race track and they had to come first. Cautious about the buses, we still carried on to our destination. I was in front of the whole group zooming past every one. I went up hill cycling and down hill was simply gratifying. I suddenly realized that no one was behind me. Quite confused, I stopped near the river bank. Waiting for them quite long, I got quite irritated and sat in the river with my legs in the freezing cold water. After a few minutes all of the group members come near the spot and join in. The next thing I remember was that everyone takes bath in that freezing cold water and I joining everyone. It was quite amazing to take a bath in that stone cold water but also refreshing. After the hour long bath in the water, we had lunch and even with potato in it, god knows, but it finished in minutes. We continued our trek and as we went more ahead the tough got tougher. At the slopes we pushed our cycles up and down hills was a rarity. Our guide is quite a nut case. His communication skills are encrypted with so many languages that understanding them takes a lot of time and due to this we actually went ahead of our camp at Banjar. After a while we find out that the camp is way behind and we make our way back towards our camp. The whole day was quite tiring and as I reached the camp at Banjar, I go to sleep in a much acquired position. I get up for dinner which is again potato ridden and then again back to sleep.

Day 4, Banjar to Jibhi :
The sun had risen early. Breakfast was served and packed lunch was given. After the formalities and making sure of where the location is we may was to the next camp. The roads all seemed to be going high and higher and most of the day we were on our legs pushing the cycle. We stopped very frequently. The scenery was getting more and more exquisite. We reached the camp pretty early passing by villages. The camp was also situated next to the river bank, so the first thing we do is to take bath. The stone cold water gets even more cold and the bath gets even more pleasure. Vishwa, Krishnam and the uncles brought in some local special food which didn't have potato. It was called 'Sidhu' and it was quite tasty to eat. We visited a small water fall next where I was the only one who had a small shower. It’s quite awesome to be under a waterfall even though it was small. We come back and then visit the near by town and see its local house from outside. Evening dawn as we return to the camp and we see that most of the people are having a jokes all round. As the night arrives we have a camp fire which is followed with Antakshari which had mix of hindi and kannada songs since most of us were from Karnataka. During this time dinner is provided. The fire stays on and all of us have dinner around it. After dinner we move on to the tents where we sleep for the night.

Day 5, Jibhi to Shoja :
This day was quite slow and tiring. Half of the members in the group rented a van to get them and their bikes to the top most camp. I gave my bag to them. The other half carried on with the trekking stopping every 5 minutes since it was getting exhilarating as we moved on. The scenery continued to get breath taking. The lunch provided was stale and inedible since they provided the previous day dinner for our lunch but it was inevitable but to eat them since we were tired. The last one to reach the camp successfully was by around 5 PM. The night went on to get colder but we had another camp which warmed the whole atmosphere. We went on to sleep pretty early since the next day we wanted to go to Jalori pass pretty early the next day.

Day 6, Shoja to Banjar via Jalori Pass :
All of us rented a van to Jalori pass early next morning and after reaching Jalori Pass we went to the fort which is located at the tip of the top most mountain. The trek towards that was simply amazing. Passing snow , flocks of sheep and various other plants and trees and on top at the fort it looked like we were on top of everything. The Himalayas looked fresh with white snow caps and eagles and different birds flying all round. Simply amazing. On our way back we were just sad to leave the paradise but the best part of going down hill was waiting in our minds. The uncles made a truck to take them down since they were sacred to the step hills. We followed them with caution of not slipping and falling. We moved one behind the other while moving down and it was quite splendid to look at how we moved. So graceful . We stopped at many areas. Took our own time. Stopped at one of the local Shawl shops. That when the most tragic moment happened. My bike was punctured. To top it all of there was a nail shoved in to the tire. The first thing I do is to remove the nail and drag it to the next puncture shop. Thanks to the guides on the bike who helped me off to remove the tire but the end that guide took the money for the puncture from me itself. While coming down also I had it checked since the air had been sucked out. Again the guy takes the money from me from the procedure. I cycle as fast as I can and reach the camp at a decent time. The camp being on the river side makes it much more comfortable for us as we can take bath. The night passes and we reach have dinner and sleep off.

Day 7, Banjar to Aut:
We start with everyone on their bike and we ride of to the next destination. The whole movement went smoothly until few minutes after the departure. The guy right in front of me, Vishwa, suddenly jumps up and falls right on his face making him bleed from his mouth and nose. We rush him to the near by water make him lay down on the ground and give him space to breath. We stop a truck and a jeep. Some of his friends go with him in the jeep and rest of the gang goes in the truck with the cycles. The rest of the trekkers in shock of what just happened. We recheck all our safety guards and we start to move as slowly as possible. The batch turns numb with sad incident. I however move ahead of the batch and race towards the front enjoying the whole scenery and the down hill ride. Moving like that gave me a lot of joy and happiness. I raced towards the camp and I was the first one to reach there. Checking my bag for the mobile and then my face is shattered. The mobile is completely destroyed. I am in shock as to what happened to it. The day goes on with me being a little glum.I collect my money for the puncture. I, the uncles and Krishnam pack our bags for the night trip to Chandigarh. Later Vishwa, who teeth alignment was disturbed and jaw mostly fractured, accompanies us also since he takes a flight with Krishnam to Bangalore. The bus is pretty smooth and we all sleep.

Reaching Chandigarh at around 6.00 AM, I,Krishnam, Vishwa and Nayak moved towards the bus stand. Once there we take the first bus to Delhi. The Delhi bus was a bit boring to sit in, since it was rigid and stuff but we had to go through it to reach Delhi. Once in Delhi, all of us take a metro to YHAI hostel where Ekta was waiting for us. We right away check in, refresh ourselves and make Vishwa feel at home, gave him what ever he wanted. Except Vishwa the rest of us moved on to see around Delhi. The first place we went to was Sharavana Bhavan, had awesom south Indian lunch there and then moved on to Delhi Tourism. The guides there gave us little info on where to go and how. Our next stop was to Qutab Minar, One of the famous monuments in Delhi after which we returned to Connaught place. I and Nayak roamed round there where as Krishnam had to go to the hostel to check on Vishwa and Ekta went towards her place. I and Nayak went around cannot place checking out different places and then went on to Andhra Bhavan for dinner. The dinner there was again spledid and amazing. After dinner we went on to the hostel where Krishnam and Vishwa were also there. We sleep of for the day.
Vishwa and Krishnam's flight were early morning the next day. I wake up to say my good bye's to them and then I go back to sleep. The next day the other uncles of the batch also join in. Nayak and Vagesh, the next day carry on to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. I check out from there and Ekta comes there to pick me up. We carry on from there and make it to Rajghat. Rajghat is the area where Mahatma Gandhi was buried. The place was quite open and very pleasing to see with a lot of greenery around. After paying our tribute to Gandhi, we move on to his museum where we went through his pictorial biography. His whole story was quite amazing to read even though I am against Gandhi’s acts on how he got freedom for the country.

We carried on Connaught place where we went to Nirula's for lunch. The place was quite suffocating with out the Air condition but we went through it. For wasting our time we went around the whole Connaught place and through Palika Bazar, one of the most famous bazars in Delhi, inquiring for the IPL shirts. We then came back to Nirula's for an Ice Cream. Having the Ice Cream in the hand, we rushed to the airport. Ekta dropped me there. I checked in waited for the flight and then off I went to Bangalore on the JetLite flight.

Vacation Time

YO!

So here I am back again typing out on my blog after a long long time and hopefully you would read this for a long time cause I have no clue as to when my next blog would be typed.

Anyways, I finished my much awaited 1st semester exam which was supposed to take place in January and now i'm 0n my VACATION. I planned out my vacation in such a way that I would be travelling through out which spaned from going to my sister's school near Sagara and back to Bangalore and going along with friends to Kerala and then back to my village. But my Kerala trip is cancelled and now with only the school and my village, its quite a small time travelling vacaction.

On my way to my sisters's school in Amtekoppa, near Sagara, I had taken a 11.00 PM bus to here from Bangalore which would supposedly reach Sagara by 6.00. It was so amazing to find out that the bus driver and the conductor din't know how to come here. Through the middle of the night, with the help of the passerby's and the milestones, they some how made it to Sagara . After touching Sagara by 7.30, they had announced that they were going to Hegodu(This place is nearer to the school). Everyone gets down at Sagara leaving me alone in the bus along with the conductor and the driver going to Hegodu. Without knowing how to come to Sagara, they took of to Hegodu, hearing the name for the first time. Again following their instincts, they head off to Hegodu. I was told that they were supposed told that the bus would pass the school on the way to hegodu but with those guys on the driver seat, I already guessed that they would'nt pass by so I told my sister that I would be there in half an hour. Lucikly we reached Hegodu by 25 minutes and a guy from the school comes and picks me up. Reaching the school, the first thing I do is a common routine as what everyone follows, i.e, brush teeth ,eat breakfast and then take bath. I find out that there a swedish girl, Clara,who had come there on her vacations and Varsha, my cousin brother's daughter, Anisha , My cousin brother's son and My sister's two kids, Vijetha and Vibha. My sister tells me to pack my bag for a day since we were going to her house for Rama Nevami( a festival celebrated in India) and the festival in her house is splendid and I had to watch it. Their house has a troop which performs a south indian folk drama, Yakshagana . I go along with them and find out the Yakshagana program starts at mid night and end in the morning. Quite amazed with their celebration, I was looking forward to it.

I don't know what happened but on this day I managed to sleep the whole while and just woke up for timly eats. God knows what happened to me on that day but I was completly frusterated with myself since I din't have a chance to get glimpse of the program. Maybe the overnight travel took a toll .

The next day we talk around with the relatives and we head back to the school and nothing pretty special on the day.

The next day I and Anisha go to a summer camp which Vibha and Varsha go to everyday. The summer camp turned out to be pretty boring cause we went there with the main intention of helping of the children who came for the camp but it turned out that we had to help the people in doing work like picking the material for the employees and stuff like that. We came back by the afternoon to the school and had lunch in the school. I went back to the summer camp area along with Clara to pick Vibha and Varsha since there was'nt any electricity and I dint know how to pass time. Going back there and waiting for them was again boring and unbearable. But we survived and so we came back.
By the way all the time we went to the summer camp area we went walking as it was only 3 to 4 kms away from the school.
I came back, played a game of cricket had some snacks and then again passed time since the electricity had not been there all along and then slept off.

So now its day 3 and am still waiting for an eventful and entralling day to come which I hope will come

After writing a lot about the cricket controversies in my previous post, I took a break with the cricket issue, but during this break, man oh man what all has happened during this time.

Indian Cricket has been revolving around many weird issues and a quick recap here:

1. Harbhajan Singh under scanner
2. India lose Test series 2 -1 with dignity still on their side
3. Indian ODI team selectors opt to leave out big players like Ganguly, Dravid, Laxman as requested by wicket-keeper captain MS. Dhoni
4. Dhoni makes statements of huge faith on his ODI team.
5. India create waves and history winning the ODI tournament.
6. Harbhajan escapes the accusation by with just a 50 % fine
7. Indian Premier league’s auction for International player takes place with Ponting getting the most unexpected lows and Symond’s racing past him with the bids.
8. IPL auction Under 19 and Indian players.
9. IPL release teams and their player.
10. The second tournament of ICL kickoff with two new teams.

This is just a recap of what all happened during the day I never mentioned cricket on the blog. Cricket will never end and neither will the controversies. And I seriously all these unnecessary items that are most of the time attached to the sport should be scrapped

RACE - The Movie

Yesterday, I gone for the Bollywood flick, RACE, and the movie was pretty much nice. I would rate it 3 out of 5. The first half of the movie was pretty much boring until RD’s (Anil Kapoor) entered along with his assistant’s (Sameera Reddy) which came in just before the first half ended. They both acted beautifully, and their jokes were simply too good. The second half really I guess thrilled the audience with the last drift race also . Too Good I’d say, that to for an Bollywood flick. Otherwise the twist in the movie were pretty intimidating, very unexpected also. The visual effects were pretty dull and the VFX didn’t reach the expectation. The sound simply was amazing, I really like it and the timing of the sound was awesome. Overall it barely reached the expectation but it did reach the expectation, so who cares whether it reached barely or completely.

A look back on “SPECTRUM”

“Spectrum” an initiative taken by Manipal Education is a series of events and seminars conducted all over India with the main aim of creating awareness as to what makes animation the buzzword of the entertainment industry.

It was kicked off on 09/02/08 in Manipal University, Bangalore. The first of its series was inaugurated by the father of Indian Animation, Mr. Ram Mohan along with other dignitaries like representative of Rhythm and Hues, Mr. Amit, RJ Harsha from Big 92.7 Fm and representatives from the Manipal Management. The seminar then continued on with the organizers welcoming the audience formally followed by a brief description as to what would happen during the whole seminar. The organizers then gave the mike to RJ Harsha who talked about the morning show that had been held along with Mr. Ram Mohan and the response received. After his talk the organizers gave a brief description of Mr. Ram Mohan’s background and his achievements. Mr. Ram Mohan then took over the dais and talked about his personal experiences in the animation industry and how this people driven field had changed along with time. He then talked about the present condition of the industry and gave a lot of emphasis on how animation education is needed to be thought properly, i.e., right from the basics of hand drawn animation and not only of software’s. He had also emphasized on facts that animation was a medium of story telling. He then showed us a small clip from the feature film “Ramayana” after which he talked about how the film was made and his wishes that it would be a collaborated Indo-Jap project but because of the offer being refused by the Indian Government, the Japanese took it as a their own project. He then talked about his involvement in the feature film where he had given most of the character designs and the voices which were given by Indian theatre actors. After the presentation on the film “Ramayana” given by Shri. Ram Mohan, some question were cross fired to him to which he had given answer pretty aft fully.

The dais then went on to Mr. Amit, Rhythm and Hues which were the visual FX team for the Oscar nominated film “The Golden Compass”. He had started by giving a brief description on how their company works after which he had shown a presentation on what films that they had worked on and along with some clips they worked on in the films. He then talked about of the recently released Oscar Nominated Film, “The Golden Compass” where they had to work during late hours. He then emphasized on the hard work put in from both the Indian and the American teams of the movie, communicating daily and working it out to be a grand success. He also talked about the technicalities of the film briefly and giving the audience a brief idea as to what, where, when and how they had done it, number of test taken and software’s used. He ran through most of the presentation due to time delay. After his presentation, he too was cross-fired with some question which he answered pretty well.

The seminar then continued with a short quiz conducted by the students of the college to which the answers came out very spontaneously. The chief guests were presented with a small memento from the organizers after which the organizers gave the vote of thanks which was followed by a tour of the campus and refreshments.
The seminar had an over-whelming audience who were very pleased with the seminar as it was a highly interactive one. The whole event turned out to be a grand success.

Heading – To Be Decided

It starts with a small narration talking about a person. This person whose lost his wife a long time ago and recently lost his 12 year old daughter to a mass murderer, a rowdy .He loved her a lot and he consider her to be the true meaning to his survival. He keeps wandering on the streets not knowing what to do and in search of a purpose to his survival.

(During this time we see the person walking with his head down on a lonely street and we show him from different angles like bird eye view etc)

After the narration we show his face fully with tears. He suddenly opens his eyes and stops at the same position. He then looks down to find a small ring (supposed to his daughters who will be later found out). He picks the rings and tries it on his smaller finger directly. Once he puts on the ring a bright light appears out of the ring(the bright light is supposes to be a transition).
We then see him caught up by an invisible rope. He tries to move around but he can’t. He tries to shout but only his lips move and no voice comes out of his mouth.

We then hear a rowdy’s voice of scaring a small girl and the girl is pleading for mercy. (The girl has the same ring as the guy had picked up from the floor) but the rowdy simply slashes his big sword through the girls body and we see the blood splatter and girls dead asleep with blood soaring out. Then we hear the rowdy laughing with joy.
All this while our main character was trying to move out and he was too pleading for the girl’s mercy but his voice never came out.
The guy suddenly hears another voice.He turns his head and looks on.It was his girl half a face and cut all round the body . She was pleading out for help from her father(“Appa please help!!please papa!!”).
While we hear the last papa a horn sound fades in and this guy suddenly realizes that he was in the middle of the road and moves away to safety.

Next day(13 oct) .We hear full joy of whistles outside the scene. The guy gets a post and the post is infront along with his daughter photo on the same table. There's a disc man also on the table. The same one whom he saw in the vision . The cd said that “please play -12 oct”. The guy plays the disc in his discman and nothing happens. The title rolls along. After the credits we see the disc man and blood coming out of it along with the sound “Appa please help!!please papa”. Crew Credits Roll Out.

College is turning out to be more fun now a days. We have got a day to see movies every week and then we most the days after college we get to play football. We get to use the facility any point of day and everything were doing, I'm loving it.

Well I have been very drastic and haven't given much credit to my parents in my posts after entering Dubai but the whole thing is that this trip could only be possible my dad as he was the one who prompted me with the idea of coming to Dubai. It all started on 27th of October which was a Saturday(exactly a week before my arrival in Dubai). I called up my dad as it was long time since I talked to him. We were just talking about the situations in college ,the ups and downs happening all round and then I told him that we had 4 days( which included the weekends) of holidays for Diwali. I told him that I wanted to go to the village side. He then asks 'why don't you come here(Dubai). The tickets are kind of cheap'. I was mesmerized when the idea even popped up. I told ' Its like its only 4 days'. He told 'try and come'. After the hearing proposal of coming to Dubai, I started calculating in my head , thinking, why don't I put 3 days holidays before that and then I would have a week which included two weekends. He told 'its fine with me but just ask your teachers'. I said 'Its okay!'. He then told that he will check the prices and that I had to tell him at the earliest. I said okay. Next day morning I am getting a message from my saying that tickets are booked for next Saturday and return on the next Sunday. I was overjoyed by reading the message and was thrilled to know that I would be there. During the whole week before the arrival, time looked like eternity. I was like when is Friday coming. Didn't get much sleep the few days before my arrival here because of some chores had to be completed like sweeping the house and washing my clothes. But yea I'm already here and that more than important.

And the sad part is 3 days are all ready over.

Looking at Dubai

But while going to the school I was looking at the buildings, roads and the flyover's which were under construction and I was just mesmerized at seeing how quick all of this was going. How dumb can it get ??!!

Yesterday I went to the Indian Consulate in Dubai for renewing my passport since it was expiring the day before my birthday. I go there with my day wait for about 20 minutes till we reach the counter and while we were finding some information about when I could get it back , they tell us it take 40 days. My dad was like ' WHAT?'. The surprised answer was just because I was leaving the next week and they told it would take more than a month. Seriously telling that kinda crazy. The person at the counter told us to meet the vice counsel and so we made our way to that person's office. We reach the destination to find out that there's a massive long line waiting to meet him. Since my dad was arrogant to meet him we waited for about an hour till we get to meet the MAN. After reaching to our target we just hear that sorry but we can't do a thing. The printer to print the passport is not working and the technicians are coming from India today. I was like what the hell, Dubai is such a place which moves at a very quick pace and there would be more than 100 technicians here, but no they wanted a technician from India so its done. Nothing can be done with. After the dejected answer we leave and just rush out of the consulate.

Now seriously, how dumb can it get ??

Back In Dubai

I am back in Dubai for a week just to visit old friends and teachers and ofcourse my parents without which this short notice trip would never had happened.I had to stay up the whole night without the electricity since it had been cut of due to short circuit and about my flight, the flight had been scheduled to leave at 5 AM. To stay awake I was reading a book and dancing the whole night away. I thank my uncle for dropping me to the airport but still I reached the airport pretty early and had to waste a lot of time in the waiting lounge also. I had a short nap there for about 15 minutes and then suddenly realized that if I would slept of then I would by chance miss the flight and to avoid this I bought a black forest cake and sat with it for an hour. Its a very tedious job waiting for a flight. Once I entered the aircraft ,which was luckily on time, I sat in my place and the next thing I remember is that we have 1 hour to landing. About Sharjah and Dubai I can say that the place is moving at a fast forward pace and I can't put it in words. Keep reading cause this week I'll be posting regularly without fail and yea I'll be buying a scanner and printer and will be scanning my works and be showing it to the world. So stay connected.

A Walk on Himalaya's

Its quite a long time since the wonderful experience has passed but still I am bound to write about it. There have been numerous moments which have happened during the trek which I can never forget.

The experience took place in north India which involved Delhi, our first and last stop, Himachal Pradesh, where the trek was held and it was been organized by YHAI, India. Our (my brother's and myself) trip started on May 9th of 2007 with both of us meeting up in Delhi. I was traveling from Bangalore and my brother traveling from Hyderabad. We had problem during the start of the trek due to some misplacement of some records and we had to check it up with the organization. So walking around in Delhi not knowing where we are going and at last end up at the right location with the help of a lot of people. Finishing the official matters in about half an hour, we were told to go to a place called kullu which was our base camp for the trek. We left the place immediately and scrambled to the Delhi main bus stand to find out that our bus leaves at 6.30 pm. We wasted the time walking around with our trekking gear in that amazing heat of Delhi till then.

The bus luckily was on time and it was off to our location. Since we were pretty much exhausted we managed to sleep of in the rocky bus.

The location at our base camp was amazing with a river flowing past the side of it and the Himalayas seen from the center of the camp. I really can't put it in words. The trek started of with an orientation and then an aclamization walk. The walk was pretty nice. It was a pretty nice walk through the dense path with trees all round. We had a session of rock climbing and getting down a rock. Taking a bath in these places is not option because you get freezing cold water. I ended up with lose motion during these day and was totally in a state of not going for the trek until one of our group members was doctor came to the rescue.
The trek started of on the 3rd day of our arrival. The trip to the our start point was amazing cause it was the first time that I had been on top of a bus. The trek that day was pretty much tiring just for the fact that the route was taking us 'up and down' and nothing more or less. The camp, Guna Panni, was pretty nice with the food given also pretty well. We tried star gazing that day but unfortunately we were disturbed by hovering clouds. The next day we get up early, do a lot of bird watching and recharging our camera batteries. We start of to our next camp and that was Faul Panni. The trip to there was splendid just for the reason of its scenery. We always stopped for our lunch break and our daily stops for water and stuff were always there. We reached out next camp pretty before schedule so we had to wait out side till it was time. The camp was on the slope of a hill so we were sleeping in a slanted way. I slept of pretty early on that day. The next thing I remember was that I was on the other side of the tent. It was a pretty funny scene that day.
Our journey to the next camp was okay and very tiring just for the fact that we had to climb steep hills. We had a good time there and a pretty nice one holding cow skull.
This day was the best day of the whole trek and you'll find out in a moment.
The next day we had a bit of rain and went past a bit of snow patches and it was nice .The fun part was pretty nice. I almost losing my glasses in the middle also had a part to play in the trek. Now is the best part. We stop for lunch. Everyone takes there Tiffin boxes outside. The scene completely changes with pitch black atmosphere all round. The guide, who was responsible for us, told us take cover since there was a storm coming by. We sit with our backs against the storm. Suddenly snow appears out of the blue. After a while hail pieces turns up. We take cover near the bushes. After a while of getting our senses back together, the guide tells us the storm is far away from finish and we will have to walk through it. We start moving cautiously. We start having snow on the way. With the hail and snow coming heavily on us, we see people slipping down. We move even more cautiously. Most of the weaker gender start breaking up and saying ' No, we can't do' and the line repeated almost every where with a little modification here and there. Then people like me and myself came to the rescue, guided the people through the whole journey. Unfortunately carried their rucksack’s (trekking gear) and completely exhausted, reached the pit stop with absolutely no power left. The scene turned worse with four of the tents had been brought down. I must say a big thanks to the YHAI people who were quite ready for this type of situation and quite prepared. They made two big camp fires and along with that they brought in hot soups and tea to cool us down. They even managed to bring up 2 of the fallen tents up. The day was pretty drastic with the ladies fully psyched out and all of them still crying. The day ended pretty early cause the next day we had to start of by 4.00 am just to miss out on the sun rising. That's cause if we travel with the sun up, the snow would have melted and it would be very slippery.
The next day, I led the way because I was sure that if yesterday's situation happened again then I would never have completed. So why take tension, lead the way. The snow was beautiful. Another reason I like it was because it was beautiful. That’s it. We passed 75% of our way pretty easily with me slipping around here and there. But the last part was horrible. We had to climb a steep mountain and wait there. Man it was exhausting. I reached up and slept there just like that. People woke me up just for the reason that I might lose balance during sleep and trip of the mountain. The next part was awesome. We come down the steep mountain sliding. Damn! That was cool. With that speed and that velocity. It was better than the wildest rides in the best water park. We then continued our trek with me sleeping half the time. The rest of the trek was pretty sad just for the reason that all fun just got over. We had a few cricket matches in the last trek with some koko game also and story telling time also in the middle but leaving that it was not that great.

Whats the difference between telling a story and scripting a story?

I really want to know because in the last two stories I had the intention to narrate the story rather than scripting it and I pretty much scrippted it only.

A Choice To Be Made

Well this is a story based on the poem 'Road not taken' by Robert Frost. It actually touched me a lot because I also had to make a decision between two courses and I have taken the course less taken, so I hope I have made the right choice.

The sun is setting and the orange sky is been prettily shown. A person named Mike is with his backpack and his gear along with his camera exploring in a forest. Suddenly he comes to fork which divides his path into 2 different ways. He stands silently glancing on both these roads. He looks deeps until he finds a bent in his first option, grabs his camera and starts taking some photos of that road. He then glances down his second option and takes some photos of this road also. He is more satisfied with his second option just for the reason of seeing a lot of scatted dry leaves and that to in lump. It makes him think that the second option is not been used mostly and since he's explorer it would be a better option.

The sun sets during this time and its pitch black. He camps there, on that fork for the night.
Next day he gets up pretty early to analyze both his options. He analyses them both and again takes some photo using his camera. He comes to a conclusion to take the second option because of the feeling that it might more adventurous. He then takes a look at his digital display in his camera. We zoom to the digital display and when it zooms out we see that a grandfather (Mike), who is very prosperous in life, is showing his grandchildren the photos. He keeps murmuring the 'road less taken had made all the difference'. We again show the photos and we zoom into the camera and the photo becomes alive, we see Mike walking down the path. Credits Roll Out.

THe 3000 Meters

It all starts of on bright sunny day. The atheltes are waiting for their fun marathon to start. All are warming and then the screen goes black and white and except for this special girl. Suddenly, the starter whistles stating the commencement of the race. The girl is followed through out the race. Through out the race untill the 2000 meters she is pretty normal and constantly at the 4th or 5th position.During the last 1000 meters, her face changes drastically. She becomes more pale. She show more urgency. She starts sprinting, still with the same face but changing still more drastically. She suddenly crops up to the 2nd position in the with the last 600 meters to go. Takes the lead within the next 50 meters. The face still changes drastically, and she become more aggrsive to reach the finish line. She sprintsd faster than a 100 meters race. Her face starts showing anger sign as to where is the finish line. She sprints even more fastr. She turns up near the finish line.Succesfully completes the race but she's still sprinting. She grabs her trophy and is still sprinting. She then gets to the nearest hotel. Bangs in through the hall of the hotel. Searches for the nearest ladies toilet. Bangs that door the door open. And still on the commode with the trophy on her lap and she's admiring it.Credit Roll Out.The End

Long Time No Blog

It's been a long time since I have blogged. Its very hectic things that I am going around and doing my stuff. Well I'm in a production group which is in a process of doing a Pixelated Movie and then I am practicing daily more than 100 Gesture Drawing, trying to improve to detailed drawing but attempts made were unsuccessful , am still trying, then doing story boards for a small script which I will be blogging later. Other than that, I've had pretty unusual spree of losing stuff. First I almost lost my I Pod, and then completely lost my wallet, and then my cell Phone, and then now I almost lost my keys. God knows, cause I always try to be careful and the more careful I try , I screw up.

Another Thing is that, I always want to be felt wanted and now days nothing like that is happening. To just feel wanted, I voluntarily went to help one of the production team to shoot some scenes and I ended up messing up their whole project. Seriously, I don’t get it. I just feel that I am unwanted. Why?

Another thing is that my house which is still under construction doesn’t have continuous electricity and they haven’t finished the work at my home. So I am bit lot pissed.

So live and let Live.

The afterMath Of WaRs

The inspiration for this movie is from the poem 'survivors' because I like how the poem revolved around the aftermath of wars.

It would start of with full fledged dance and party for the occasion of the war won by that place. Then the focus would be on a group of soldiers (the only soldiers present there). These soldiers are sad, petrified, by the aftermath of the war, but still are just acting like they are having fun. Then scene zooms into one of the soldier’s eyes whose name is Mark in which it would show a war scene where an enemy shoots and it just passes by Mark’s ears and hits another soldier who was the best friend of Mark. Then the scene goes in slow motion ,the friend dying. The scene zooms in to the dying friends eyes, in which we see all red blooded, fun filled, full of life just waiting to sign up for being a soldier. This is because they are proud to represent their country in a war. We then see that Mark and his dying friend (at that time) posing with full joy for a picture just taken for remembrance. Suddenly the scene zooms out and we see the eye lids of the dying soldier closing and Mark, who is shocked, burst out all the bullets he's got, kills the enemy, runs to his dead friend, grabs him before he falls and holds him on his knees .He blinks. When he closes his eye lid for blinking, the scene changes from the war back drop to the group of soldiers in the party and then finally to the whole party. Credits Roll Out.

Hectic Time going on...

Hey there ,

Its been a very hectic and very busy time for me. Lot of home work like creating a story board for a story, doing 300 sketches, doing 3 object studies, writing essays and a lot of other stuff also. In the middle of all of this there was a college activity day and i participated in the it for gaming and we luckily won. Another thing is that there is no stable current in my house. It goes around 8 in morning and is put back at 6.30 in the evening. So right now in my life there's a lot of happiness and sadness.

Well. It's been a long time since I posted a blog.

Anyways college life is good. We watch movies daily which is quite boring because we see only olden historic movies(If it were new then I would die to watch them). And the rest of the time we scribble our whole time. Its quite fun.

About two week back we made Optical Toys. They are instruments that were used in olden times to animate. There are different types of them and we made a Phenakistoscope and a Tharmatrope. Pretty interesting stuff and very exticiting to do as it just feels like recreating history. Nothing much has been happening since then .Will keep updating as regular as possible

Objectives: 1. To show all those people who advised me not to do this course and to show to them that I was right in what I did.
2.To create a revolution in a good manner so that in the coming years people will chant my name and by this I will be famous and people will respect for who I am.

Short Term Plans: 1. To complete my degree program and excel in my class by coming first in my academics and to satisfy my family's expectations.
2.Work for few years and gain a bit of experience and then continue to do my masters.

Long Term Plans: 1.To complete my masters outside India and then work for a reputed studio for 2 to 3 years.
2.After this, shift my job to a small based not reputed studio where I can understand the difficulties of making a new studio.

Target: 1. To create a studio with the Head Office in Bangalore and the work station in my village Birthi, Salikeri or Manipal.
2.After that help in social service and stuff like that.

Dream: 1. Winning an academy for myself and not for a team.

The Difference between Acting and Performance

The Dictionary Meaning of Both the words:
1. Acting: Art of representing a character on a stage or before a camera by means of movement, gesture, and intonation. It is the work of an actor or actress, which is a person in theatre, television, film, or any other storytelling medium who tells the story by portraying a character and, usually, speaking or singing the written text or play.
2. Performance: It is the art of doing something successfully; using knowledge as distinguished from merely possessing it;

My Understanding:

First of all, it’s quite interesting that there is such an argument between acting and performance because as of I am concerned that is pretty much it. But still, if this issue is looked into deeply there are quite a lot of different points of views.
Acting, as the definition depicts, is the art of presenting a character, a role which is given to an actor by who so ever concerned. Acting is what is done on a daily basis. But performance, is what is been appreciated by the audience. It’s that part of the act which is presented by the actor using the acting skills. .

For example, after watching a movie, we always commend on the actor performance and not on the acting because it’s always that the performance that is more appreciated than the acting skills. For a person who looks at making a animated movie, then it’s taking the right performance and put it in the right place. The acting skill just enlarges our thinking and broadens our creativity by a large extent.
