Photomation

It's an animation technique which I am researching on. It is basically the process of shooting series of live photographs and placing them together which will eventually give an illusion of life. One methods of photomation is the pixilliation which was already experimented by my friends and myself in our first ever production called ‘The Big Trick’.

I am planning to use another method also called ‘Fotomation’ (Method used in the award winning ‘Missing Pages’(Video Below)) part of  this animation technique in my adaptation of Robert Frost's 'The Road Less Travelled’.

Sorry but I still don't have exact details of this technique.

Excellent concept, and well done video this one.

Deriving from what i've seen i believe each story telling has its own descriptive language, isn't it? As in each kind of a story is best told in a certain concept of cinematography! Like this technique would suit thriller and emotions but not comedy or action.

Looking forward to your implementation.

Talking about the above video. Its called 'Missing Pages' and it has won 24 awards in many film festivals. The rest of the parts can be found on youtube.

Now talking about the technique, it is very true that each story has its own descriptive language but you shouldn't write off saying that this technique would suit thriller and emotion and not comedy. There would be some day where this technique would surely make you laugh to death and that is what I am trying to research about. The whole aim of my research is how to use this technique in such a way that it would entertain people and change the way the public understand animation,i.e,not only cartoons.
