Hello

'Hello'a bollywood flick with special apperances from Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan and Arbaz Khan (the before names are big names in the bollywood industry).

'Hello' is based on a best seller called 'One Night @ the call centre'. The story is about a night at the call centre and it revolves around 6 characters who work in the call centre.

The movie was a drag. It was'nt like the book and wasnt good at all. In the theatre I was dying for the end.

And if you've read the book, then you'll be even more sad because they've changed the most of the character's approach to the story.

When directors take up adaptation, I have no clue as to why they have to change something or the other from the book.
Hmm  have to think about it.

Have you seen the movie "The God Father". I'm sure you must have read the book!
This adaptation is done appreciably well. Perhaps, the beginning of an era for gangster movies.

There are other adaptations which have been directed excellently. It does depend on how the director perceives the characters, and how well he can visualize them in real life.
For example, if you take Omkara, a loose adaptation of Shakespeares Othello, it was a very well directed movie, and the change was very welcome.

Talking about The Godfather, I have watched the movie and read the book and the most noticeable thing is that the content of the movie is moving away from the book. The movie was closely stitched to the book's content. It surly was not the beginning of the gangster era for your clarification but it did have a very powerful impact on the Gangster Genre.

Talking about Omkara, yes there are a handful of adaptation that have received critical acclaim but in India, adaptation have not quite worked out.
